Take Netflix for example; they use an advanced machine learning program for their recommendation system that suggests new TV shows to their subscribers with a similar genre as the ones they are currently watching.

Voice Search is going to be louder than ever.

In a report conducted by Search Engine Land, the voice-search based e-commerce have accumulated over $1.8 billion in sales in 2017 alone. With more people using mobile phones and voice assistants such as Alexa and Google Assistant, the numbers of voice search users continues to increase every year. Visual Search as an incoming trend.

But aside from voice search, another search method is currently on the rise as well. Say hello to visual search. For those who have no idea what visual search is, it’s a search method that allows users to take pictures of something and use that image to find information about it in Google.

Aside from Google’s reverse-image searches, Pinterest has also used visual search by launching Lens last February of 2018. And according to the social media platform, users reportedly have used it over 600 million combined monthly searches.

Security becomes a priority.

As the rise of e-commerce continues, online shoppers or consumers are getting smarter and making the proper choices to guarantee that they are getting the products they want. According to a report posted by Blue Corona, 84% of users would abandon a purchase if a website doesn’t have a secure connection or SSL. This only means that a website lack of security protocols can significantly impact your sales and search engine ranking as well.
