Only 4% of Americans Under 50 Are Immune to Facebook

We all know that Facebook is the world’s largest and still most popular social networking site. Since it was launched seven years ago, it has attracted more than half a billion people around the globe. And that’s just half of it. Today, the Facebook domination is still growing. If you are a brand marketer looking into launching a social media marketing campaign, here is another reason why Facebook should be on top of your priority list. According to new survey findings released by Bank of America and reported by AllFacebook, only 4% of Americans aged over 12 and under 50 are not on Facebook.

Other statistics revealed in the BizReport article by Helen Leggatt include a staggering 96% which is the percentage of Americans under the age of 50 who are signed on to Facebook. In addition, over half (51%) of those users say that they have increased their Facebook use over the past 12 months.

The article also reveals other key findings by the survey which includes the following:

-82% of Facebook users have concerns about privacy
-69% do not spend less time on other websites as a result of their Facebook use
-48% have intentionally clicked on an ad on Facebook
-48% frequently use the Like button
-40% check Facebook multiple times each day
-36% check Facebook multiple times a day from their mobile device
