Short-Term vs. Long-Term SEO Marketing

There are few quick things you can do to improve your SEO, but SEO is a perpetual process of researching keywords and making your site more search engine friendly and keyword focused. Here are some pros and cons of a deliberate short-term SEO process and long-term SEO process:

Short-term SEO pros
• Depending on the size of the site, pages gets analyzed, optimized, and rolled out within a few weeks or months.
• Problems are corrected and site architecture are reviewed.
• No long-term contracts or on-going commitments.
• No re-occurring fees after the first payments.

Short-term SEO cons
• The SEO process takes months until any work can be submitted to the client, causing a delay on high performance on the search engines.
• Due to timing, limited contracts, or unavailable pages, many valuable keywords may not get fully optimized.
• Limited reporting, performance, and market analysis.
• Exceedingly limited or non-existent link building or social media aid.

Long-term SEO cons
• Long term commitment, generally 6-12 months at minimum but the SEO process can likely go on indefinitely.
• More money spent on SEO.

Long-term SEO pros
• Ongoing discovery and optimization of new and valuable keywords into your site
• Ongoing performance analysis, ranking maintenance, market reporting, and consultation
• Ongoing link building and social media consulting
• Do not have to wait for keywords to be optimized and implemented because it’s a continuous process

Short-term SEO campaign does have its pros but a long-term campaign has a guaranteed success. If you cannot wait for the long-term SEO campaign and you want your site to become more search engine friendly, then we suggest investing in PPC.
