As Facebook Messenger celebrates its 10 years, its developers are rolling out new features to enhance user’s experience and communications with each other. These new features include the ability for users to send and receive cash gifts and create chat poll games. But to further discuss each feature, we summarized these new updates in Messenger.
Here are the four new features that are added to Facebook Messenger:
1 – Send and Receive Cash Gifts
Facebook users in the United States can now send and receive cash gifts directly through Facebook Messenger. Your Facebook friends can send a cash gift for your birthday, and you will be notified on Messenger and Facebook with their gift message wrapped. The notification is also accompanied by virtual balloons.
To send a cash gift to your friends. Open your Facebook app and tap the button that appears on your friend’s birthday posts in their profile.
2 – Group Chat Poll
You can now start poll games on your group chats in Messenger. To play a poll game in Messenger, go to your group chat, and tap polls. Then select the tab with the title “Most likely to” to pick a question. Select the names of the group chat participants you want to answer the poll.
Group Chat Poll games are meant to entertain users in their group chats.
3 – Birthday Expression Tools
Facebook now adds birthday-themed tools to their Messenger app. This includes a new birthday chat theme which will consist of a curated sticker pack. There will also be added tools such as the Birthday AR effect, a Birthday song sound Moji, a confetti message effect, and a birthday balloon 360 background.
4 – Share Contacts New Feature
Facebook users can now share their contacts with their friends with a new direct feature. To share your contacts directly, select the contact, then access your Messenger chat setting. Then tap the Share Contact under the More Actions option.
