As a start up on Facebook, people will hesitate to like your page because no one’s there and you have nothing to attract them with. In order to fix this, you have to get some activity going first.
Connect your website to your Facebook. You can either do this by using the Wordbooker Plugin for WordPress or simply use the Facebook Like Plugin from Jetpack. Integrating your Facebook page is a great way to let your current customers know that you now have a Facebook page. It’ll also allow you to post new updates into your Facebook page as automatically. If you have other social media accounts, connect it to your Facebook too. Twitter has its own application that will allow you to connect to Facebook. Use this to integrate posts from Twitter to Facebook and vice versa.
Now that you’ve connected your accounts to your Facebook, post a few things on it – pictures, links to informational articles and more. Complete your profile and make sure you have your contact details in the About Page. The more complete your profile is, the better it will look for your target market. Check to see that you haven’t left out anything on your Facebook profile. Make sure you have a good profile picture and a cover if you’re on a timeline. If your business is currently on promo, use this for your cover picture.
With a little activity now, the only thing missing from your page is the people who like it. Unfortunately, you can’t just simply ask people to like it. But you have to make it seem authentic to people who will see it first. Have your friends like the page and share it to their friends. If you have a company who provides other internet marketing services for you, have them use the page for future activities.
Once you have some activity and people who like your page, it is now time to target your market. Visit other pages and groups that may be in need of your products. Use your Facebook page to comment and lead people to it. Instead of just handing out links, aim to help people. Start conversations, make jokes, interest people with information and fun facts. Build relationships and friends. When it comes to social media marketing, the strongest connections always make bigger profits and longer business life span.
