A new ad account policy and suspension page have been introduced by Google specifically for Display and Video 360 users.

Throughout 2022, Google has released numerous updates as well as clarifications to its ad disapproval policies. Most of these updates focused on providing more context to advertisers on the nature of their ad disapprovals.

During the first quarter of 2022, Google released a new ad destination policy, an unavailable video policy, and the 3-strike rule. And now, Google is also updating its account-level suspensions policy for Display and Video 360 users.

The Changes

With his new update on Google Account Level Suspension Policies, a new page has been added to the main Disapprovals and Suspensions page. This page is solely dedicated to Display and Video 360 users.

It includes information that clarifies what violations may lead to an account suspension:

  • Sexually explicit content
  • Counterfeit
  • Unacceptable business practices
  • Coordinated deceptive practices
  • Promotion of unauthorized pharmacies
  • Circumventing systems
  • Trade Sanctions violation

Account Suspension in Repeat Violations

In addition to the violations listed above, Google also announced that a partner account could lead to account suspension.

This means that an advertiser within a partner account who violates policies repeatedly can have their account suspended. However, to be clear, it doesn’t mean that any violation can lead to an account suspension.

Google stated that if an advertiser or partner account has “repeatedly engaged in egregious policy violations,” it can cause suspension.

The good news is that partners and advertisers can still appeal if their accounts get suspended for the first time.
