YouTube will adopt another feature from TikTok to YouTube Shorts. The voiceover feature will allow creators to narrate their short videos.

Creators can use this voice feature to enhance their YouTube Shorts by explaining their content, adding reactions and funny comments, or adding their own sounds.

Before the update, it wasn’t easy to add voice to a recorded video. This is unless creators capture their voice while the video is being recorded. But with this new update, creators can add a voiceover to their YouTube Shorts after recording.

The Voiceover Update has started rolling out on iOS devices.

How to Add Voiceover to YouTube Shorts

After you’re done recording a YouTube Shorts video, you can add a voiceover by following the short and quick guide below:

  • Open your YouTube App and select your short video to add a voiceover.
  • Tap the checkmark button located in the bottom right of your camera screen.
  • Tap the voice button to start.
  • Move the play head to the part of the video where you want to start your voiceover. The play head is the vertical white line you can find on the video filmstrip.
  • Tap the red record button to start the recording process. Tap it again if you want to stop recording. You can also hold the record button while recording and lift it up to stop.
  • If you wish to delete your last voiceover recording, tap the undo button to delete. You can also tap the redo button to add it back again.

Once you’re done, you can check the volume panel to adjust the audio levels across the music, the voiceover, and the original video’s audio.
