Previously, we discussed the role of keywords and high-definition videos in being successful in SEO videos. This time, we conclude this two-part article on how to get started with SEO video marketing through YouTube.
1. When researching the competition, it’s not enough to simply know the keywords they use that could give you an idea of the terms users search for. It is likewise important to know your competition’s analytics – keywords, URLs, viewership, and audience demographics.
2. YouTube offers the ability to place captions on videos uploaded on the site. Captions are important in SEO video marketing because YouTube, Google, and other search engines index these to help decide if it is relevant to a query. You can either upload your own or have YouTube generate one for your video.

3. If you have multiple videos, link them to one another so users know other options they have that are related to what they searched for. This also encourages multiple viewings. Another idea is to have a “series-type” of YouTube videos to tease the viewers to come back for the next installment.
4. Social media marketing is very easy with YouTube. Small businesses do not need to manually publish the YouTube links in various social media sites because YouTube can do it for you. Small businesses have the option to add to their Facebook Pages or send it to Twitter for added visibility.
5. Have a YouTube channel dedicated solely to your small business. A branded channel, complete with the company’s logo and design, has a more professional look and makes it easier to syndicate channels, links, and Google Analytics for more metrics.
