In August we reported on Google Caffeine, an update on its current search algorithm to help improve its indexing speed and reach. While the changes we noted were subtle, implementation of their new algorithm could rock current search engine optimization strategies for many firms. No one is quite sure how their search engine optimization efforts will be affected or when it would happen. Well, at least one of those questions will be answered soon. While developers were offered a preview of Caffeine in August, Google has ended the preview and is preparing Caffeine for a larger release.
SearchEngineLand is reporting that developers are now greeted with this message:
“Based on the success we’ve seen, we believe Caffeine is ready for a larger audience. Soon we will activate Caffeine more widely, beginning with one data center. This sandbox is no longer necessary and has been retired, but we appreciate the testing and positive input that webmasters and publishers have given. ”
Unfortunately, like everything else Caffeine related, Google is keeping quiet. But now we know for sure that we should prepare to tweak our search engine optimization strategies in the near future. The developer preview was successful and while the changes may be subtle for some, this is a big move for Google to revamp its existing indexing methods. Hopefully, for your business, you won’t experience any complications, especially with the holiday season coming up.
