Meta, formally known as Facebook, announces the launch of Instagram Explore Home Ads Placement. It can be accessed via the Instagram Marketing API, allowing advertisers to run ads on the Instagram Explore home page.
The new feature was announced by Meta on October 4, 2022. According to the official post published by Meta, businesses can now add ads in the Explore Home section. It’s a grid that Instagram users will see the first time they arrive on the Explore Tab, allowing brands to reach people while discovering new content.
Instagram Explore Home Ads Features
The announcement of the new Explore Home Ads in Instagram Marketing API was posted by Meta on November 11, 2022.
In the statement, Meta explained that they now allow Instagram Explore Home ads. Advertisers can add campaigns using Instagram Marketing API, and it is available on all of Instagram’s current Marketing API versions.
The Instagram Explore Home has three new features, including:
- Ads creation – Use “INSTAGRAM_EXPLORE_HOME” as one of the placement options to create your ads.
- Ads insights – When checking the insights via Placement Level, advertisers can see how ads perform via Instagram Explore home placement.
- Ad preview – Developers can also be able to fetch the preview of their ads in the INSTAGRAM_EXPLORE_GRID_HOME format.
Adding New Home Ads
Advertisers can now create ads by using the new INSTAGRAM_EXPLORE_HOME placement options. Using this new option updates the Instagram app to start creating ads in Instagram Explore home via API.
The new feature will also have ad performance data which advertisers can access via their Placement level insights. They can also preview the Explore Home Ads.
