The Holidays are upon us and one of the many preparations you need to focus on is effective PPC management for the busy shopping season. To help you get started on your PPC management planning for the Holidays, today, we are giving you Holiday-focused keyword research tips, courtesy of Sarah from PPC Hero.
2. Make a list of possible gift recipients. In doing so, you have to take into consideration the relevance of your products. For example, if you sell women’s fashion jewelry, you’ll want to capture shoppers who are searching for “Holiday gift ideas for mothers/sisters/girlfriends.”
3. Make a list of all your products. You probably already have this in your PPC accounts but according to Sarah, do not forget to include relevant and generic Holiday product terms like “gift” or “present.”
4. Make a list of possible Holiday promos. Go beyond the usual “free shipping” keyword. Try “guaranteed delivery” which is almost the same thing but phrased differently. Think of other deals that customers are likely to search for and note the variations.
5. Use keyword research tools. This is more of a PPC management reminder than a tip. Of course, any self-respecting online marketer knows about Google AdWords. Sarah also recommends AdCenter. You can also use Google Insights to help you get an idea about search volume. This can help you plan your PPC budget accordingly.
6. Don’t forget the negative keywords. Being proactive about negatives can help you save money. This is an oft-overlooked PPC management tip that can actually help keep your Holiday traffic more focused. Always pay attention to related terms that pop when you search your targeted keywords.
