According to a new survey from ChangeWave Research, interest in the Android and the iPhone is almost even. It’s only a one point difference, but the survey shows Apple’s iPhone no longer dominates the smartphone world as it once did. In September, only 38 percent of the consumers interviewed want iOS on their next smartphone, that’s down 12 points from June when 50 percent of the people interviewed said they wanted an iPhone. Google has continuously worked on making improvements on the Android and boosting its appeal since it first launched. Currently, Google is increasing the availability of app add-ons. Consumers use smartphones for most everything these days: navigation, texting, email, shopping on mobile ecommerce sites, and staying connected with social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter. Competition is healthy for driving innovation. What will Apple come up with next to once again reign as the smartphone king?
