YouTube Search Insights, the keyword research tool, will be available to all channels later this month. It is designed for users to be able to surface valuable keyword data.
The tool was initially launched as a test for a limited period in November. During this time, YouTube showed everyone a preview of what they should expect from the Search Insights tool. According to the developers, YouTube hasn’t significantly altered the Search Insights tool since it was rolled out to a few select users months ago.
YouTube users who were part of the test group will be able to continue using the tool. For those who haven’t experienced Search Insights yet, here are some things to take note of:
YouTube Search Insights
The tool is developed to assist users with content planning by providing data they can use to create more relevant content.
The data will inform users about what specific audiences are searching for. Furthermore, users can also get data on what the broader YouTube audience is searching by simply looking up the keywords to check their estimated search volume.
Users can use Insights to search for a content gap. A content gap happens when a keyword has a high search volume but shows relatively few relevant results.
When you find a content gap, this creates an opportunity for content creators to supply their target audience with content that they are not getting enough of.
How To Access YouTube Search Insights
You can access Search Insights within the Research Tab in YouTube Studio via desktop. Click Analytics in the left-hand navigation menu.
Go to the Research tab and look for the section “Your viewers’ searches.” You can access data about what your audience is searching for.
In this tool, you will see a list of top keywords that are being searched by viewers. Search Insights will also display the level of search volume for that keyword. It will show how many views your YouTube channel has gotten from searches for that keyword in the past 28 days.
