Yesterday, we gave you five tips courtesy of the Social Media Examiner on how to build and cultivate customer relationship from blog comments. Today, we’re back with more.
With the gamut of Internet marketing servicesout there, taking advantage of the underappreciated and often ignored techniques can help you stand out in a sea of online retailers.
Ready for the second part? Here we go!
1. Say hello. A blog comment does not have to be deep and profound at all times. It can be a simple “hello” to a frequent blog visitor. It’s a good practice that will earn you the fondness of your readers. If you have an Internet marketing service provider teaming up with you to maintain your blog, ask them to make it a point to include simple salutations in your content marketing strategy.
2. Address them by their names. Dale Carnegie explains it best, “Remember that a person’s name is to that person the sweetest and most important sound in any language.” Enough said.
3. Be emphatic. Being emphatic when replying to blog comments means recognizing what they have just shared with you and responding by giving them an honest answer. Once again, it is important to align with your Internet marketing service provider so that your online personality is consistent.
4. Invite other readers to offer their solutions. Remember our tip yesterday? Don’t be too much of a know-it-all. Invite the others in your community to share their ideas and offer their solutions. This will help you foster a sense of community among your readers and brand followers. Make sure to remind them that they are always welcome to add value to the discussion and that you don’t have the monopoly of right answers.
5. Be specific when commending someone. This, in a way, is part of being emphatic. It shows that you truly read and appreciated the comment. In the crazy and often nameless world of Internet marketing services, a little personal touch always goes a long way. Don’t forget to mention why you are commending a reader. You don’t want to come out as just patronizing everyone.
6. Recognize the frequent “commenters.” In relation to tip #5, recognizing those who take time and effort to comment is part of being emphatic and adding the personal touch. Believe it or not, this is often overlooked and yet this simple act can prove to very rewarding.
