Not only is Google known for expanding their product line through mobile devices and browsers, but its products have also been known to be open for development. Recently, a search engine optimization (SEO) extension was developed for the Google Chrome browser. This SEO extension tool focuses on all aspects of SEO and categorizes them into 5 areas: external page data, page elements, social media, page terms, and server/domain info. The tool also provides suggestions for enhancing typical SEO areas for Google Webmaster Tools, Google Analytics and Yahoo site explorer.
The external page data feature compiles data and ranks from various places (such as Alexa popularity, Google Index and PageRank, Dmoz, and Yahoo) and presents the data, number of links, pagerank, and graph all in one section.

The social media feature gathers shares and bookmarks from several social media sites, such as Digg, Facebook shares and likes, Twitter, Reddit, and De.li.cious.

The page terms segment shows relevant page elements in regards to SEO: keywords (phrases), meta description, anchor tags, header tags, etc. This portion is looking to further expand by extracting terms for keyword research using Google’s keyword research tool.

This extension enhances Google Webmaster Tools by providing the link anchor text and pagerank of linking pages. The social media reactions can be found on the Google Analytics page. In addition, the Yahoo Site Explorer now shows links, anchor text info, and pagerank.

Of course, this extension is only intended for use with the Google Chrome browser. The developer has also incorporated indexation stats from the three main search engines: Google, Yahoo, and Bing. Future plans for the extension include: StumbleUpon share data, more site suggestion information, improved keyword research, indexed pages in Google, Yahoo, and Bing, and keyword search volume in webmaster tools. Even though there are many great tools combined into one extension, the developer is still looking for feedback for any possible improvements.
