Any Internet marketing expertwill tell you that when it comes to blogging, the proof of the pudding is in the traffic and the visibility.
Of course, this is easier in theory than in practice but thankfully, it’s not impossible. The key, really, is to make sure you have shareable content.
So, how do you or your Internet marketing expert make your blog content shareable?
- 1. Find out your most popular posts and keywords. This is to help you and your Internet marketing expert determine the posts that are “proven winners”. Use Google Analytics. If you are really big on content marketing, you should install social sharing plug-ins like Digg Digg and Shareaholic. Once you have zoomed in on the winners, the next step is to sit down and strategize how you can replicate its success.
- 2. “Listen” for trends. To stay ahead in the social media game, a key skill that you should develop (or a valuable asset that your Internet marketing expert should have) is listening. What are people talking about? What do they want to read about? There are a lot of tools you can use to help you in this aspect. There’s Trendsbuzz, LinkedIn Today, Know Your Meme, Topsy and of course, Google Insights.
- 3. Find out your content’s share value. Why should people make that effort to share your content? Think like your audience. Are you bringing anything new and valuable to the table? Are you entertaining? Are you funny? Does your content inspire and motivate? Does your content advocate any relevant issue? You Internet marketing should be able to keep you in check. Content marketing is all about creating value, not noise.
- 4. Make headlines that grab. Give more thought to your headlines. Is it thought provoking? If you were the reader, is it something that would compel you to read? Your headline should give an overview of how valuable your content is. If your content is time-sensitive, then your headline must imply that urgency. Always strive to make an impact with your headline. It’s akin to your first impression when blogging so make it last the right way.
