Are you blogging like an Internet marketing expert should be? Are you converting blog readers into customers? Are you driving sales from your blog?
1. Have a call to action. A call to action can be as simple as asking them to tweet about your article or visit your website. Samuels says that “if you want people to take action, you have to ask them.” Of course, you don’t just blog to ask them to do things for you but first, you give them real value through quality content and then you segue into a simple call to action. Get your readers accustomed to doing something after reading your blogs so that they get used into having an “action-oriented” frame of mind every time they read your blog.
2. Make it easy for readers to subscribe to your e-mail list. If you want to be an Internet marketing expert, you cannot just focus on social media marketing. You have to utilize all Internet marketing platforms. According to Samuels, an e-mail list allows you to “promote quality products” that will help them accomplish their goals and consequently, make you more money. Make sure that it is easy for them to subscribe to your e-mail list. Keep it above the fold.
3. Write quality content. There is no need to post daily if you don’t have anything valuable to say on a daily basis. Quality content is king. Blogging like an Internet marketing expert doesn’t mean blogging like there is no tomorrow. If you have quality content, high volume of traffic and positive action from your readers will come almost naturally.
4. Have a monetization model. Don’t get us wrong. A monetization model doesn’t mean resorting to hard selling. Samuels uses the example of his own 7-Day Bootcamp Training wherein he offers an affiliate link for participants who need a hosting account. It’s a win-win situation wherein both parties get what they need minus the hard selling. Now that’s an Internet marketing expert.
5. Do not put your e-mail list on the sidelines. While Facebook and Twitter are truly helpful in promoting your business, at the end of the day, your account is still not yours. Facebook and Twitter own them. You are bound by their rules and guidelines. Do not abandon your e-mail list. Strike a balance between your social media accounts and your own e-mail list. In fact, make the latter your priority. In a world going gaga over social media, your customers will appreciate the exclusivity and the personal touch of an e-mail list.
