From being a bookseller, Amazon has grown to become the largest online retailer. Today, it has more than 304 million users and has an estimated 30 million mobile app users. As of October 2017, it has 3 billion selling products, and this number continues to rise as sellers continue to add products every day. It is even expected to sell 12.6 billion products in 2020.
This data is the reason why many entrepreneurs try to sell their products on the online retail giant. But how do you sell an item on Amazon? Today, we’ll discuss the ways on how to sell on the site to help aspiring online sellers and Amazon newbies.
#1 – Create a Seller Account
First things first, create a seller account on your Amazon. Click the option under your name on the top right-hand side of the page and then choose Seller Account. Click Start Selling, which will then take you to a new page where you can select the type of seller you want. Amazon currently has two options: Individual Sellers and Professional Sellers. The difference is that being a Professional Sellers allows you to sell your items on Amazon Prime as well.
#2 – Create a Listing per Item
Once your seller account is ready, go to the seller dashboard and start creating your listings. To do this, search Amazon’s database then select the category you best fits the item you intend to sell or by using keywords. Make sure to use the name of the product, its brand, or the edition of the product. Once you’ve found it, then click “Sell yours here.”
#3 – Pack and Ship your Items
To pack and ship your items, first go to your Seller Account. After that, go to “View your recent Marketplace orders.” There you can find the option “Locate the Order” under the “Manage Your Orders” tab. After that, you can either choose to ship your items to your customers via your own preferred courier or through Amazon fulfillment.
#4 – Continue to Manage your Account
An active Amazon account will continue to generate sales. With that said, always open your Amazon seller central and make changes every now and then. List new items, end items that are not selling, then relist them later on. Adjust your prices as well. Another great tip to make sure that you can sell your items is by doing SEO and PPC under Amazon.
