Powerhouses such as Google, Apple, Facebook and Twitter always have some new service, gadget or technology to show off. Technology and business endeavors evolve so quickly, we have something new to look forward to almost daily. However, not all new technologies become big hits. Leading information technology research and advisory company, Gartner, Inc., has released its annual Hype Cycle Report. Specialists evaluate emerging trends in technology and their path to mainstream adoption. This year the report includes a predicted outlook on tablets, microblogging, cloud computing, machine/brain interfaces and more. Of course, Gartner’s report should be taken with a grain of salt. According to Gartner’s chart, microblogging sites such as Twitter might not have a big impact on business. Of course Twitter has made several changes lately, so the final verdict on Twitter’s worth is still out. Technology has a tendency to evolve and become popular, despite certain expectations. Take online communities as an example, social media has evolved beyond anyone’s expectations.
