If you have a social media marketing campaign and you feel that it is not giving you positive results, then keep reading. Today, we are going to share with you seven tips, courtesy of smedio’s Douglas Idugboe, on how to beef up your online presence through social media.
2. Engage. Social media is all about dialogue. It is a two-way process. You can spend thousands of dollars sprucing up your social media accounts but unless you actually communicate and engage with your audience, there will be no social media ROI for you.
3. Listen. Do not use social media for hard, in-your-face selling. It is a surefire way to become a social media disaster. Listen to what your audience is saying, whether it is good or bad. Part of the listening process is responding, as mentioned in tip #2.
4. Integrate. Make sure your social media campaign is part of a larger marketing effort. Advertise it whenever you can–include it in your e-mail signature, put it on your website, invite customers to your accounts. People want to be part of a community and integrating your social media accounts is a great step to building your own.
5. Adapt to technology. Take advantage of changes on Facebook to boost online advertising. Explore new options like Google+. Regularly check updates on which apps can be useful for your Twitter account. Social media survival has a lot to do with your ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-changing online world.
6. Reward loyalty. People love promos and freebies. Reward your audience’s loyalty with giveaways, discounts, coupons, and exclusive offers. Use contests to encourage interaction. This is a good way to hook your audience because they will surely come back to you for updates.
7. Compete. The nice thing about competition on social media is that you get what you give. So always play fair, play smart, and be very patient. Great things on social media don’t happen overnight.
