Facebook’s Timeline presents a lot of challenges but a better way to look at it is that it offers a lot of opportunities for you and your Internet marketing expert. Since migrating to Timeline is mandatory, the next step really is to adapt and to do so quickly. It’s also vital to follow the guidelines and yet “push” the boundaries of acceptable creativity.
Whereas online retailers and their Internet marketing experts used to create a default landing tab, the new Facebook Timeline now has the cover photo. How do you make up for the lost engagement with a default landing tab?
Custom apps.
Here is a simple guide for you and your Internet marketing expert, courtesy of Social Media Examiner.
1. Establish an app strategy. This basically answers the question: What do you want out of your app? Do you want to drive in more leads and eventually sales? (Of course, you do!) Do you want to orient visitors on the nature of your business and your brand? Do you want your app to reflect your physical store? It’s really up to you and your Internet marketing expert. Make sure to have a strategy before you proceed. This will help you design your app with more direction.
2. Use third-party tool options. Some of these are free and some are not. Don’t worry about this being too technical. That’s what your Internet marketing expert is for.
3. Promote your custom app. Now, this is the more challenging aspect. Make sure to have calls to action in your custom app name as well as on the app thumbnail image. As you well know by now, calls to action should be strong and should clearly state the trade-off. The incentive is not necessarily material or monetary. It could be valuable information, tips or entertainment value.
Change is a constant part of social media so if you plan on staying long in the industry, it should be something that you are constantly willing and ready to adapt to. What are your own Facebook Timeline tips? Share it with us! And come back for more Internet marketing tips!
