As internet marketing consultants, we obsess over click through rates and site traffic numbers. The more clicking through in our emails, the more feedback we receive about our content’s relevance and engagement level.
With an email campaign, it’s your company’s chance to educate the consumer with a catchy, interesting lead and possibly engage a sale through proper advertising and promotion.
Many times, the click through rates are not as high as we hoped for. How can you improve these numbers? One way is by designing an email survey. Keep it simple with only one to two questions, to help you know what your target audience wants in an email survey. Keep your email simple as well. Make it brief and to the point. Don’t make it too text heavy; because chances are it won’t be read. People are only interested in what is going to benefit them.
By conducting an email survey you should be able to identify why they aren’t clicking on your emails. Hopefully, you will be able to collect a significant amount of responses to conclude the common reasons why you have a low click through rate.
Keep in mind common reasons for low click through rates are:
- * They receive your emails too frequently
- * The content/ products are not relevant to his/her needs
- * The email is not interesting or engaging
- * They do not have time to read the content
