Search Engine Optimization (SEO) involves research, from determining your businesses’ biggest demographic, to knowing their specific likes and dislikes. If you don’t do this, then you’re marketing blind.
If you’re doing video marketing, YouTube just saved you a lot of time and money by expanding their Insights for Audience tool to package all that information for you. The tool lets you pick and dissect an audience to see if they are an ideal demographic for you to market to. Go to TestTube to pick your theoretical audience, and get a breakdown of all the information you need for Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
For example, I’ll do a quick search on YouTube viewers in the Americas who like advertising and marketing.
The audience’s age, gender, and origin:
Origin
Americas: United States, Canada, Brazil, Mexico
Age
13-17: 7.8%
18-24: 42.3%
25-34: 30.5%
35-44: 12.4%
45-54: 5.0%
55-64: 1.9%
65-: 0.0%
Gender:
Female: 29.1%
Male: 70.9%;
Interests: This audience’s likes / dislikes
Users in this audience watch 44.2 times more Advertising & Marketing videos than average.
What I find most useful is that the Insights tool also gives you a list of videos the audience watches and the types of keywords they search for. In terms of Search Engine Optimization (SEO), this will give you a better feel for which demographics you should tailor your video marketing plans to. It will also help configure the best method for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) in terms of optimizing your video and the keywords to reel in those consumers.
