Linkedin will roll out a new feature that will enable users to add external links to the photos they post on their feed. This new feature allows another opportunity for users to drive traffic to their website from their Linkedin business page or profile.
Linkedin Creator Manager, Geri Silver, announces the new feature on her Linkedin profile. She also shared an example of the new link sticker in her post, showing how users can add a link that can be added to any photo.
New Clickable Link on Linkedin Photos
As Geri Silver explained in her post, Linkedin will roll out the ability to add a clickable link to posts. This way, users can bring new audiences more easily by adding a clickable link, whether they plan to share resources, list jobs, and drive sales or sign-ups. The clickable link sticker will vary in size and can be added or placed on top of Linkedin videos.
However, there isn’t much variety users can expect from the design of the link stickers, aside from the size and customizable link text. Users can also add a few emojis, which can add a bit of design and flare to avoid the same generic-looking stickers on their photos.
Silver also explained that if some Linkedin users can’t still see the features yet on their profile or business page, they will have to wait. Linkedin developers are also starting with this new feature on mobile, so it might not be available on the web yet.
Link Stickers and Usage
Users on both mobile and desktop platforms can see and click the links when they see the posts in their feed. However, only app users can add link stickers to their photos and videos via the post creation tools.
Link stickers will roll out to users in phases, which means some users can already access this new feature before others. To check if you’re eligible to use this new feature, you will be able to see a chain link icon button when creating a post in the LinkedIn mobile app.
