Search Engine Optimization minimizes factors that prevent higher ranking positions you’d expect you deserve. Once a webpage has been optimized properly for both humans and robots, that webpage can get to top 10 ranking positions in Google.
But when will you ever know whether your site has been optimized enough to reach the rankings and gain the traffic you deserve? You might say that’s a very easy question thinking that SEO definetinely has to stop when you’ve reached top 10. Well, let’s assume that you’ve managed to get the most difficult keyword you need to target to beat all your competitors. Even so, more important questions arise after reaching top 10. Did you attract more traffic? If so, how much more? Did all those people buy your product? Are they coming back to buy again from you? Did they like your online shop? Really? How can you tell?
Until you can positively answer all these questions, you have no reason to stop doing search engine optimization. Webpages that aren’t properly optimized will have a hard time reaching the first page of major search engine SERPs. Continuous SEO work keeps your business fit to fight for your spot in the top 10.
Over the years, I consider Google Analytics as being the best tool you can use to effectively analyze how your business is doing online. From eywords to visitor loyalty, bounce rates, browser capabilities, etc… These are all SEO to my mind. And, if you can teach yourself not to lean on only one side of the huge boat called Search Engine Optimization, you will always find your way with the search engines no matter how they change their algorithms.
